GREENTOP CIRCUS APPRENTICESHIP

Salary | £10,167 over the 15 month contract period |
Hours | 30 hours per week including 1 day a week equivalent training – some working out of usual business hours will be required |
Eligibility | Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be aged 16 to 24 |

Responsible to | Youth Circus Leader |
Training | Specialist training with Youth Circus Leader and Lead Teacher in a range of circus disciplines and teaching delivery with further training and creative opportunities in our masterclass programme and as part of Troupe.
Blended education programme delivered by learning partner Lifelong Learning and additional workshops from Coach Core Foundation and members of the south Yorkshire consortium. |
This is a brand new opportunity for a determined individual with a passion for participation with excellent people and teaching skills.
Greentop Community Circus Centre is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on young person seeking to make the most of a unique development opportunity. The apprenticeship will gain a Community Activator Apprentice (Circus) Level 2 qualification, with training to support Greentop in the delivery of high quality projects and programmes that engage and support people from a range of backgrounds. You will be learning a range of circus disciplines and teaching skills and will assist in delivering circus in both school and community settings across the South Yorkshire region, be part of Greentop’s youth touring performing platform Troupe, and support delivery at our centre in Grimesthorpe, NE Sheffield.
This apprenticeship is the first of its kind delivered with our partners Coachcore and Lifelong Learning. The apprenticeship offers huge potential to the right candidate who will have a high chance of continued employment.

We are seeking a Chair Person able to
- Act as an enthusiastic advocate and ambassador of Greentop Circus Centre.
- maintain the flames of originality and optimism at the heart of Greentop’s vision ad foster our strategic direction.
- Work alongside all trustees and team in promoting well considered strategic decision-making, effective oversight and a culture of inclusion and care that honours the risk and responsibility inherent in circus work.
We are seeking Trustees able to
- Act as an enthusiastic advocate and ambassador of Greentop Circus Centre.
- Bring specific knowledge, experience or skills, in either marketing, fundraising or finance.
- Work alongside all trustees and team in applying these skills and any life experience relevant to the groups we aim to serve.
Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term, with renewal for further terms of 3 years, attending 4 Board meetings annually an AGM and awayday. Currently 2 meetings are held virtually and 2 meetings are in person at Greentop. These are voluntary positions, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Volunteering
As a charity, Greentop is always looking for volunteers, and this is a great way to develop yourself. You can volunteer in rigging equipment, sound engineering, lighting, event organising, working with children, work in the community, running a charity, marketing, admin and more.
