This is Circus : Circus In Schools
Our This Is Circus School Programme brings a fresh take on PE classes. The programme can be delivered entirely remotely through videos, lesson plans and circus kits supplied to the school. Over 6 weekly classes the children at KS1 &2 will explore a whole range of circus skills and ask themselves What Is Circus? and discover how it’s great for creativity and resilience.
This is Circus Can:
Engage students across all fitness levels
Promote physical and mental wellbeing
Encourage resilience and collaboration
Develop skills in creative thinking
“What This is Circus brought out was all of those soft skills of collaboration, persistence, resilience, cooperating with each other communicating with each other and i loved seeing so many kids happily engaged without it feeling competitive”
– Nick Wells, lead on PE, and Becky Stroud, teacher, Beck Primary School
“its been such a success and we would definitely be interested in doing this again next year “
– Laura Senior, Teacher at Hucklow Primary School
Greentop Community Circus Centre has worked with schools to co-design the programme ready for you to pick it up and run. We can adapt this programme to other curriculum areas or lunch/ after school provision and to make a more blended mix of support with circus teachers coming into school as and when Covid secure protocols allow.
