Greentop Circus Opens Applications for a New Centre Director
A rare leadership opportunity at one of the UK’s most vibrant circus organisations. Greentop Circus is entering an exciting new chapter — and we’re looking for a visionary leader to help shape it.
After a decade of dedicated service, our current Centre Director, Teo Greenstreet, has announced that he will be stepping down:

“It’s been 10 great years and I’ve decided it’s time for some fresh hands at the helm. I’m retiring from running organisations, which I’ve been doing for well over 30 years, but believe I will be leaving Greentop in good shape.”
Teo’s leadership has strengthened Greentop’s foundations, expanded our reach, and deepened our impact across Sheffield and the wider region. As he prepares to pass the baton, we are seeking someone who shares our passion for creativity, community, and the transformative power of circus.
About the Role: Centre Director
The Centre Director is the strategic and operational lead for Greentop Circus — a role that blends big‑picture vision with hands‑on delivery. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and our talented staff team, the Centre Director will guide the organisation’s mission, champion circus arts, and ensure Greentop continues to thrive as a creative, inclusive and community‑rooted space.
Key areas of leadership include:
- Strategic planning & organisational development
Leading the vision, strategy and business plan, ensuring Greentop’s values and community focus remain at the heart of every decision. - Creative & programme leadership
Working alongside the Teaching and Programme Lead to support a relevant, ambitious and inspiring creative programme. - Marketing, fundraising & profile raising
Overseeing marketing strategy, developing fundraising approaches, managing funder relationships and advocating for Greentop’s role in cultural, educational and social contexts. - Operational & financial management
Ensuring strong HR systems, robust budgeting, effective processes and compliance with governance and legislative requirements. - People leadership & culture
Supporting and developing staff, fostering a safe, inclusive and positive working environment, and nurturing partnerships that expand Greentop’s reach.
This is a role for someone who thrives on collaboration, creativity and community impact — someone who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery, and who is energised by leading a small but mighty organisation.
