This is a chance for duos of all levels to work together in a workshop situation with a highly experienced trainer and ex-circus artiste. In the workshop day, duos will work on tempos, mechanics and dynamics as well as efficiency of technique and aesthetic. There will be opportunity to work on positions and transitions and if a duo has a specific objective it can be addressed. If a duo would like to switch roles (base/flyer) that will also be possible but is not obligatory. Participants are encouraged to make notes, and can take photos and videos if they wish.
You will be working with the same partner throughout the day, so please book in pairs.
About the tutor
Juliette Hardy-Donaldson started performing Doubles Trapeze in 1990. She has had various partners at different times, notably Mark Morreau (as Suspended Animation) and Jo Heap (for Secret Cabaret on Channel 4). She has taught numerous students and performers throughout her career, within touring circus, at various training centres in the UK and on Higher Education courses at the National Centre for Circus Arts (formerly Circus Space). She has also created acts for various productions including Batman Live World Arena Tour and Barnum UK Tour. As a circus artiste, her international career started in 1988 and ended in 2008 and took her all over the world. Doubles trapeze is just one of Juliette's many specialist disciplines. Her dance background, her Pilates teaching and her performance experience and knowledge of various circus disciplines have made her a better teacher over the last 26 years with a deep understanding of movement potential, dynamics and artistry.
