New Venue Director swings into action
Date: 19 September 2011

Greentop Circus welcomed its new Circus Venue Director this week, Charlotte Barltrop, who joined the team for the Cabaret and immediately got stuck in as the stand-in stage manager, the existing manager having been injured at the last minute. Charlotte will be managing the day-to-day running of the venue, looking after the building, cabarets, shows and other activities.

She comes to the role from a career in the circus that spans 30 years. She is a Ringmaster’s daughter and had her own trapeze act when she was just nine years old. She has toured all over the world, including the UK, Ireland, Holland, France, Germany, and South Africa. Her aerial skills include trapeze, cloud-swing, high-wire, silks and corde lisse and she knows everyone there is to know in traditional circus in the UK.

“I’m really excited to be at Greentop and can’t wait to start working closely with all the members and staff to really put us on the map as the best place for circus in the region” Said Charlotte.

James Harkness Greentop’s Event Manager adds “We are very happy to welcome Charlotte to the team. Her background in touring circus brings a fresh perspective to Greentop and I am looking forward to seeing how she develops our unique circus venue”

The next event in Greentop's exciting programme of performances and shows will be Gerry Flanagan's new clown and physical theatre show The Madness of Love on 30th September. To buy tickets click here.
