Greentop's CEO Craig took a turn in Dragon's Den this month as local school students were challenged as part of a leadership programme.
The 'Your Turn' programme is amongst the latest offerings by leadership and civil society body Common Purpose. The programme culminated with young people being presented with a series of business challenges by leaders from the private, public and voluntary sectors, who then sat in judgement in the Dragons Den as solutions were pitched.
6 students from 5 schools focussed on how Greentop could bring more 13-17 year olds in to its Youth Circus programmes. In a presentation involving juggling, roleplay, fruit and poetry, the students clearly outlined the benefits of Youth Circus: "It helps boost confidence, self esteem, while making new friends," said group member Richard.
The group walked away with the prize for Clearest Message, when asked by the Dragons for the secret of their success, Ellen said "We convinced ourselves, so hopefully we can convice others," while Jack summed up by saying "The challenge of how to convince 13-17's to take part was an easy challenge because Youth Circus is such an appealing and exciting passtime. I think several of our group will be coming along!"
Greentop's Youth Circus classes continue every Tuesday and Wednesday, with workshops for hire by demand for any school or youth group- see the Youth Circus section of the Greentop website for more details.
