"The Space Between" Aerial Dance with Gerry Turvey January 30th & 31st 11.00 - 4.00

Aerial Dance Workshop with Gerry Turvey, aimed at both ground-based performers and aerial dancers to develop ways of working together that will challenge your techniques, styles and processes. Find common ground in the 'space between' air and floor. The workshop will go towards creating choreography which will be shared at the end of the workshop. The emphasis will be on play as a creative tool; partnerships with the equipment, the space and each other. Through working solo and with partners, this workshop will focus on new ways of working, with encouragement to dive into unknown territories.

Acrobatics & Tumbling with Marcelo de Ramos February 28th 11.00 - 4.00 This workshop will cover tumbling (cartwheels, round-offs, somersaults, twists), mini-trampoline and acrobalance (basic preparatory balancing, handstand balancing, baskets, lifting work). Suitable for all standards, including beginners; skills taught will depend on the level of the participants. Marcelo is an acrobatic performer and teacher and a specialist stuntman with over 20 years experience. £40 / £35
Swinging Trapeze with Mike Wright March 13th & 14th 11.00 - 6.00 Train with famous swinging trapeze artist, performer and director Mike Wright at your own level and pace, take your skills to the next level, learn new moves, develop your range, improve your techniques under the tutor's expert eye. Some previous aerial experience, a good state of fitness and appropriate upper body strength required. Pre-book to reserve your time slots.   £80/£70
Chinese Pole & Acrobalance with Richard Durnford of Bongo Bolero April 25th 11.00 - 4.00 This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced students and will focus on Chinese pole and acrobalance, including: acrobatic balancing, adagio, dynamic tempo and classic Chinese pole moves, climbing styles and strength moves. The workshop is designed to be challenging and informative, participants will be taught at their level and will be encouraged to explore the equipment themselves. Taught by expert Chinese Pole and acrobalance performer Richard Durnford.

Swinging Sundays  - Swinging Trapeze

11.00 - 6.00 Swinging Trapeze Sunday Sessions led by an experienced trapeze tutor. Learn new techniques and improve existing skills, try moves on and under the bar, from standing and sitting and experience the thrill and the freedom of being weightless.  For beginners to more advanced students - open to everyone with some aerial experience and a reasonable level of fitness and a good head for heights. £30 / £20

Valentine's Acrobatic Partner Balancing February 13th 11.00 - 1.30 A special for Valantine's weekend! Treat your beloved to a unique circus experience they'll always remember. Learn the art of acrobalance with your partner in a safe and enjoyable workshop. Acrobalance or acrobatic balancing is the art of using another person to balance while they support you. A great way to get fit and improve core strength, posture and flexibility whilst having fun. Because this workshop requires you to work in pairs, we can not book individuals onto this workshop. £45 per couple
Circus Arts - Equilibristics and Manipulation
Stilt walking January 17th 2.30 - 5.00 Learn the circus art of stilt walking from an experienced performer, including hand-held stilts and strap-on peg stilts. Learn how to warm-up, stretch and prepare, safety equipment, techniques, tricks and more. Stilts are a versatile and creative piece of equipment, indispensible to many performers, useful for creating stature and height with characters, great visual impact in parades and shows and also lots of fun! £13 / £18
Diabolo February 21st 2.30 - 5.00 Learn the ancient Chinese manipulation art of the Diabolo, from the basics of how you get it spinning, to beginner's moves and more advanced techiques such as grinds, orbits, cradles and more. Learn at your level from an experienced tutor. £13 / £18
Poi & Staff February 13th 1.30 - 4.00 Poi is a performance art using balls suspended from a length of string, ropes or chain and held in the hands and swung in circular patterns. Poi originates from the traditional performing arts of the Māori people of New Zealand, and has since developed many forms enjoyed worldwide as a hobby, exercise, or performance art alongside juggling and other forms of object manipulation. Related to Poi is the staff, a length of wood or other rigid material spun in circles and patterns for performance, related to martial arts (the Japanese Bo staff, for example), baton twirling, and traditional stick dancing. £13 / £18

January 23rd 11.00 - 4.00 Puppetry for beginners! Bring inanimate objects to life, make basic puppets from found stuff and everyday objects then learn how to bring ithem to life, even put together your very own show! Bring your own puppet and learn hopw to use it. Taught by an experienced performer and puppetier. No experience necessary and suitable for adults and children. All under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

11.30 - 2.00 Burlesque is the traditional artform of striptease that has its heritage in theatre and variety shows. The emphasis is on the tease with lashings of tongue-in-cheek homour. Each class will teach a variety of skills and techniques including fans, tassles and other props, stripping, strutting, routines and pole dancing. The classes are for women only (16 years plus) and private with no nudity. The atmosphere is supportive, relaxed and fun, taught by experienced burlesque teachers. Whether you want to be Dita Von Tease or simply increase your confidnce and feel more sexy, these workshop are are for you! £35 / £30

Mask with Phil Coggins of Babbling Vagabonds

Throughout the world masks are used for their expressive power as a feature of masked performance - both ritually and in various theatre traditions. In performance, we can enter into a new persona, try out characters, take risks, explore and create.
